I am going to design a monogram/logo for my wedding. I don’t really want to design a monogram, I want to design a logo. Because monogram is nothing more than a pair of initials plus a fancy font, logo tells a story.

First of all, let me short introduce my fiancee and myself.

We met each other while we were in primary school, and then we went to the same high school, but not in same class. It has been 18 years. This is why I used 18 as a design element. Below are a few drafts:

Here is the 1st design from the drafts: combine 18 and LR, the scatted dots represent a clean, sporadic but unforgettable memory. It contains all my favorite elements, but doesn’t look good, so it is denied.

Actually on my first draft, you may find a highlighted word STAMP on left top corner. It is derived from COMPROMISE and AGREEMENT. This is what the marriage is! After had a conversation with my fiancee, we figured it out we gonna use our fingerprints as an element of our logo.

I like the fingerprint logo, fingerprint represents Honesty, Loyalty, Commitment. Big and Small Fingerprint slightly lean on each other just like husband and wife in a family. Finally, I decided to use Our Chinese Name, because the wedding will be held in Shanghai China, and most of our guests are chinese.
